Local artist Emily Donovan embarks on a collection of natural pigment artworks inspired by the abundant plant life that inhabits her daily garden in an exhibition entitled, Of the Earth. Built from the ground up through the harvesting of nature to create plant-based dyes original to Donovan, this showing of botanical rich landscape paintings takes the viewer on an eco-friendly art journey from start to finish. Broad brushstrokes of dyes such as Indigo, Logwood and Madder root swoop gently in and out to create a voluminous interpretation of the landscape and its vast flora that surrounds us.
